Cresset Names Family Office Services Co-Head

Cresset Asset Management, the wealth management firm that has seen some high-level arrivals and departures in recent sweeks, this week announced that Barbara Young, senior managing director, has been appointed as co-head of family office services, serving alongside Bill Rudnick, senior partner, general counsel and head of Family Office Services. Among other details about Young, Cresset pointed out that she is active within TIGER 21, the network organization for wealth owners, and has served on the advisory boards of several venture, private equity, and real estate funds.
Young was previously chief executive, chief investment officer, and founding principal of Cypress Wealth Advisors, which Cresset bought in the spring of 2019. Prior to that, she was the founding president and chief executive of Springcreek Corporation, a wealth advisory firm that provided full family office services to high net worth families.
“Barbara is a veteran private investor and trusted advisor who is highly involved across the broader family office and wealth management community. She is the ideal choice to help lead Family Office Services into the future,” Avy Stein, co-founder and co-chairman of Cresset, said.
Cresset’s Family Office Services group has more than 20 professionals. Cresset’s purchase in June of PagnatoKarp – interviewed here – added concierge services, lifestyle management, and cybersecurity, to its roster of offerings.
There have been a number of senior moves at Cresset. Michael Cole, CEO of Cresset Asset Management, recently left the business after a stint of two years. Tiedemann Advisors, the US wealth management firm, appointed former Cresset Capital senior managing director Jill Shipley as head of family governance and education.
Cresset, formed five years ago, oversees $9.8 billion in assets under management.
